Review: Pedalxtreme G11 MTB Pedals

Pedalxtreme G11 Pedals Offer Up Loads of Grip!

Purple bike pedal with metallic finish and studded edges, placed in a black foam-lined box. Visible text: GT.

A few weeks ago I hadn't heard of Pedalxtreme. I saw a post from someone I follow on instagram and I reached out to Pedalxtreme asking if they would send me out a pair of pedals to review and they sent them out within a few days. The pedals came with extra pins and a full set of replacement bearings as well. Upon first look they have a lot of similar looks of the Deity T-Mac and also the Tenet Occult pedals with about the same amount of concave and platform measurements. They have a high quality look and finish to them and seem to be made well. From the looks of their website Pedalxtreme looks to be run by mountain bikers or maybe one mt biker? But I am not quite sure. It looks like they are based out of San Diego, CA and there is. a picture of a bunch of dudes that look pretty stoked to be riding bikes. I have been putting some miles on the Pedalxtreme G11 pedals recently and I have found them to offer a lot of bang for buck or should I say holler per dollar? Whatever it is they offer up a great pedal for a pretty low price. It looks like they are saving the customer a good bit of money by going the consumer direct route. You can get a pair of these G11's for $79.95 on their Amazon store. That is $100 less than a pair of Deity T-Mac's.

How Do They Ride?

Just putting my foot down onto the pedal before I started riding I could immediately feel these were going to have loads of grip. If you are one that does not want your foot to move while riding then you will like the PDX G11 pedals a lot. While climbing if you have the right pedal stroke you can actually get a bit of pull on the up stroke. I climbed some of the jankiest, loosest and most technical stuff Utah has to offer and never got bounced off these things. Same story on the downhill. Drop your heels and you never even think about your feet slipping or getting knocked off the G11's. They are also very comfortable. The big 110mm x 105mm platform makes for comfort, stability and lack of worrying if your foot is in the perfect position. The concave seems to match up to the natural curve of my FiveTen Freerider Pro shoes to ensure that all pins are sinking into the soft FiveTen rubber. These are a bit thicker than the PNW Loam pedals I have been riding and I did notice a slight increase in pedals strikes. But it wasn't enough to give these pedals any bad marks. One thing you will want to be aware of is once your foot is on there it's not coming off until you pick your foot up to move it. You are not going to be sliding your foot around much if any to find the perfect foot placement like you are on the PNW Loam pedals. But you will have more ultimate grip which in turn will give you more confidence. Yep, these are confidence inspiring pedals. The bearings on these are super smooth as well and with the included refresh kit these should last you a while too. I think I will be running these ones for a while.
