After Using The RUX 70L Gear Box I'm Pretty Sure I Need To Buy 20 More Of These!
RUX sent me out the RUX 70L Gear box a couple months back to put through some testing. At first look I wondered how a gear box with some straps could be better than the normal duffle bags or other tote bags I had been storing my bike, snowboard, camp and fishing gear in. I mean there are a lot of cheaper tote bags out there that you just toss your stuff into or even just one of those $10 black boxes with the yellow lids to chuck all your gear into, although the lid will find its way cracked within a week or two. At least all mine do from kids using them as a stepping ladder to get to other stuff in my wildly unorganized garage.

When I opened up the RUX 70L Gear Box it definitely looked cool, and the materials looked nice, but how was it worth its $298 price tag? Then I started building the box and attaching the smaller divider bags and storage compartments inside of it and then started putting my gear into it. It was still bike season when I got it, so I started out by using it for all my mountain bike stuff. I'm super stoked on the RUX Bag 25L Divider bag and the RUX 3L Pocket . The Divider bag securely clips into the RUX 70L Gear box and can be done so in a variety of widths depending where you clip it on some solid rails at the top of the Box. I love having somewhere to store smaller items like pads, gloves, goggles, sunglasses, sunscreen and snacks and not have those smaller items just get lost in a sea of other gear. The 3L pocket can be secured on the inside or outside of the RUX 70L Gear box and have a place for even smaller things like your phone or wallet and stuff. RUX also has some cool little 5L soft coolers you can get for storing some post ride beverages. The divider bag is awesome on it's own as well.

The biggest benefit of the whole RUX system is organization. Everything has been thought of with these gear boxes. The external rails make it super easy to attach your RUX to literally anything and anywhere! There is a small clear window on the side of the box to see what's inside or there are spots for a label card on the top and side of the box to clearly mark and label what's inside. Having 4 kids these RUX boxes are going to be a perfect gear carry and storage solution for everyone's bike, snowboard, camping equiptment and more! These things are super durable made with tough weatherproof materials and when you are not using them, you can give them a chop at the corners and they will collapse due to a support that looks and works like those slap bracelets you had as a kid. There are multiple carry options with two side handles or backpack straps that are easily grabbable or worn as a backpack.
It's taken a while for winter to get going here in Utah, but we finally started getting some snow and I have swapped my RUX 70L over to snowboarding mode. It fits all my stuff perfectly with a couple pairs of gloves, a few different pairs of goggles, socks, a fleece jacket, helmet and my bibs and insulated shell along with a nalgene, some snacks, and some post ride drinks.

Final Thoughts
These things are not cheap. But I do think they are worth it. It makes storing or traveling with your gear sooooo easy and everything stays super organized so you're not frantically hunting for gear when it's time to get on the road. Plus if you are throwing your stuff into the back of a truck you don't have to worry about rain, snow or dust getting to your stuff. I think these RUX boxes are absolutely amazing! RUX also makes a 40L size and tons of accessories for lots of different ways to pack and organize. There really is no other gear box system like this.
