Are E-bikes The Best Option For Kids? Why The New Commencal Meta HT Power 24 And Other Kids E-bikes Are An Investment For Your Future

I can already hear the e-bike hater people now. If they hate e-bikes for adults, they are going to hate them for kids even more. I for one am a big fan of this. While my youngest kid has just surpassed the 24 in bike size I won't be getting one of these but if I were to turn back time a little bit and my pocket book was a bit fatter back then, this is what I would have my kids ride. Although I would have an analog bike for them as well.

Going back a few years when my older kids were still between the ages of 6 and 10 ish we were doing a lot of riding. Those rides were all pretty short though. You see, kids have a lot of energy but not a lot of endurance. Products like the TowWhee and the Kids Ride Shotgun Tow Rope were game changers and allowed my to assist my kids to the top, but I could only help one at a time really and that was usually the youngest of them. Then we had a chance to do some testing and review for Two Wheeling Tots on the Woom Up Kids mt. bike. While I don't think it was a full on replacement for an analog bike for kids, it was an absolute game changer for so many reasons! My son that was riding the Woom all of a sudden wanted to ride way more often and do much longer rides than normal. He was getting more riding time, which means he was getting more confident and building riding skill a lot quicker. That also means I was getting a lot more riding time which is something I would gladly pay extra for.

E-bikes for kids are really just like a investment accelerator in the early years that will pay big dividends for years down the road. If you can make biking more fun and easier for them when they are young, they will want to ride with you more when they are older.

The new Commencal Meta HT Power 24 looks pretty rad. With a BOSCH motor with 55 Nm of torque and 600 W of power, an integrated 400 Wh battery, proper suspension, drivetrain and brakes, this bike is set up to be a pretty good time.
